"Get Out!" Magazine Photo

It's so exciting to have my photo right on the top left hand corner in a collection of exciting media pics from the annual "Get Out!" Awards honoring the best in New York Nightlife.  The image is of me sandwiched (or should I say Man-wiched?) between two of the hottest and most notorious leather-men personalities in town, Jed Ryan (Mr. Rawhide / Mr. North American Bear) and Mr. Boots and Saddle). The pics were taken by the well-known celebrity/nightlife/event photographer Alan-Joseph. It's in the current issue, #140 date-12/26/2013, page 19 of the magazine that is the guide to LGBT New York City Nightlife, Arts and Entertainment, Get Out!

Yuletide Arts

I had the most festive time adding some Holiday glamour and Cheer with my Christmas couture and a comedy-musical performance at a Holiday Party at the prestigious Salmagundi Art Club at 47 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Founded in 1871, the Salmagundi Club is one of the oldest Art organizations in the United States.  Housed in a historic brownstone mansion, the club offers art classes, exhibitions, painting demonstrations and art auctions throughout the year.

Political Holiday Cheer

The Holidays are for celebrating and in the LGBT Political arena there was plenty to be joyous about this year with with the US Supreme Court striking down the federal DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) and California's Proposition 8 and with eight states allowing legal same-sex marriages in 2013! The Stonewall Democratic Club held its annual Holiday Soiree at The LGBT Community Center, 208 West 13th Street, Greenwich Village, New York City on December 11th and I was honored to be a part of it.  Elected officials from the Federal, State and City levels, politicians and supportive allies gathered together for seasonal cheer and continued success.

Marines, Boots and Toys

I had an amazing time entertaining the tropes at a Toys for Tots toy drive and fundraiser held at the legendary Boots & Saddle landmark LGBT bar at 76 Christopher Street, West Village, New York City with members of the United Stated Marines on December 10th. Us Drag Queens caroled the holiday tunes in a most festive show and the Marines bar tended and donated their tips.  And the brave Marines also auctioned off signature cocktails to raise extra funds.  Drag Queens and Marines mixed together wonderfully alone with the lively Boots and Saddle patrons raising the holiday spirit while helping underprivileged children in the New York Metro area.

Holiday Sweater Soiree

'Tis the season to for decoration and excess, so "don we now our gay apparel" with our ugly, tacky and outrageous Holiday sweaters.  We all had a blast showing them off at Rockbar, 185 Christopher Street, West Village, New York City on December 7th.  DJs Big Ragoo and Chauncey Dandridge kept the music going and we all kept warm and fabulous in our knitted works of Holiday couture.

Night Of a Hundred Heddas

I had the most fabulous time at a gala visual art opening night reception call "Night Of a Hundred Heddas."  The show featured one hundred self-portraits painted by the renowned Drag Queen personality - Hedda Lettuce.  The show took place at the Chelsea Eye Gallery in New York City and was curated by artiste Tracy Von Becker-Legge.  Hundreds of NYC's glitterati gathered to see that Miss Lettuce can paint more than just her face, she also can create colorful works of original art!  Myself and some other divas wore green wigs to honor Hedda and we all had a blast and enjoyed Hedda's had live song performance that she treated us to.  Among the attendees included Horror icon Joe Zaso (Cafe' Himbo), Emperor Vanity Society, artist Marco Santaniello, Diva Rita Knight and many others.  The DJ spinning tunes at the soiree was Ravi of Myexotic and the Bar was tended by Francis Legge, who also donned green Hedda drag and ended up drinking much of the beverages himself. Proceeds were donated to CHABHA, an organization that helps children affected by HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa.

NOA - Night Of the Arts NYC

I had a wonderful time at New York City's annual NOA - Night Of the Arts, held on the evening of November 13th at The LGBT Center of NYC in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. Renowned fine visual artists and photographers had their images on display and performance artists took to the stage.  It was a magnificent showcase where artisans and art lovers were given the opportunity to mix, mingle and soak in some culture.  There was also gourmet food and an open vintage wine and soda bar making for an unforgettable evening.  The event was curated by Armando Chavaz and Scott Walsh and featured the stunning art of dear friends Rob Ordonez, Anu, Ryan Janek Woloski, Tim Otte, Timothy Bouldry, Keith Taylor, Geary Marcello and many others with performances by Eric AlanRock Star Sissy, P-Vaz and others. Me and Ryan did a special entertainment news report for Out and About Television.

Halloween was extended a day when hundreds of revelers had the most wonderful time at The Phantom's Masquerade, a lavish gala held at the Baroque-Gothic historic landmark Loews Jersey Theater at 54 Journal Square, Jersey City, New Jersey on Friday evening November 1st.  The opulent venue was the perfect setting to recreate the Masquerade Ball in the classic Musical, The Phantom of the Opera. There were sparkling beverages, gourmet food, music, dancing and live entertainment with Lovari, acrobatic dancers Antoine du Pole and Lady Tee, opera divas and the Phantom himself!

Greenwich Village Halloween Parade!

I had the most amazing time as part of the 40th Annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, the largest Halloween celebration in the World!  Marching bands, floats, giant marionettes and tens of thousands of ghouls, ghosts, goblins, witches, monsters, devils and all sorts of other celebrants got all costumed up and took part of the spooky spectacle and headed up Sixth Avenue in New York City's downtown historic Greenwich Village. I was a glamorous she-devil.   It's much more fun being naughty and devilish than being an Angel, if you know what I mean!  I had a blast with Lovari, Rolanda Rose and many other fierce friends. The parade had to be cancelled last year due to super-storm Sandy, but this year was raging with revelry with joyous celebration.  Lucky for us, the weather this year had unseasonably mild temperatures making it agreeable for the guys could wear skimpy and shirtless costumes!
