I was thrilled and honored to be a performer at the annual
Fresh Fruit Festival Awards, held on April 30th at the legendary and Dixon
Place. Dixon Place is an Obie Award
winning, Off-Broadway New York City theater devoted exclusively to presenting
original pieces of theater, dance, performance art and literature that are
works in progress. The Fresh Fruit Awards, affectionately known as "The
Fruities" honor outstanding art and performance in the Festival and also
give kudos to outstanding dedication and devotion to the Arts and the LGBT
Communities. The Fresh Fruit Festival is
NYC's renowned, multidisciplinary, international festival of LGBT arts &
culture. I had a blast with Robert Urban, Carol
Polcovar, Nick Curto, Frank Calo, Jeff Leeds, Gerard Flores, Alvin Rangel,
Suellen Rubin, Heidi Russell, Pheobe Leger and many other fruity friends and
family celebrating the independent NYC LGBTQ arts scene.
