Michael Musto's 70s Disco Extravaganza

Disco Lives!  "Shake your groove thang" was the mantra at an awesome and exciting party where the 70s dance classics reigned supreme! A grand soiree called Michael Musto's 70s Disco Extravaganza was held in a club located below the legendary nightclub Studio 54, appropriately called 54 Below (254 West 54th Street, New York City).   The Village Voice columnist hosted the evening and even sang some groovy hits himself - and his voice was as impressive as his wit and stage-presence! A fantastic band called Elektrik Company, the ultimate 70s Disco tribute ensemble, provided the amazing live music with Jerome Jordan, Lisa McQuade and Afua Monk Addo providing sensational vocals like Donna Summer, The Bee Gees and other classic singers of the era.  Other guest stars included tony award nominee Orfeh (Legally Blonde) Snookie and Tish - Musto's Glittering Sidekicks, and Randy Jones, the original Village People Cowboy who drove the crowd wild while belting out YMCA.  But our favorite moment was when Musto hilariously parodied the Gloria Gaynor hit "I Will Survive" with lyrics about over-eating, holding up a Domino's Pizza Menu.  "What  if her name were Gloria Gain-More and she had a weight problem? It would go like this. ." quipped Musto. I had a marvelous time with actor/recording artist Lovari, Mickey Boardman (Paper Magazine), Frankie C (Odyssey Magazine), Drew Grant (New York Observer Newspaper), Patrick McMullan, Santiago Felipe (Next Magazine), Jeff Eason, Andrew Werner, Frances Von Legge, Tracy Von Becker-Legge, Jason Russo/Hey Mr Jason Photography (kudos for the amazing pictures) and many others!

State of the Borough - Manhattan

I had a wonderful time as a guest at the 2013 State of the Borough Address by Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer.  The program took place at the world-renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art inside the Grace Rainy Rogers theater where entertainment was provided by my dear friends of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus with musical director and conductor Charles Beale.  After Mr. Stringer's remarkable speech a reception was held inside the Museum's Temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing, where breath-taking art and artifacts from ancient Egypt are displayed.  The event took place on February 7, 2013.

Birthday Bash at "Boots"

I had a blast at the Birthday Bash for dear friend Gustavo Ayllon Almeida held at the notorious and historic West Village landmark watering hole Boots & Saddles on Christopher Street on February 2nd.  Drag Divas, strippers and singers all got together to put on an exciting show to wish Gus a fantastic birthday.  The show was hosted by Victoria Chase and included a performance by recording artist Lovari.  The packed house was wild with enthusiasm! A great time with good friends is a perfect way to celebrate!
