NYC LGBTQ Pride Parade and Festival

I was so grateful and honored to have been invited to march with the Mayor of New York City, Bill DeBlasio in the annual New York City LGBTQ Pride Parade and to perform at the Pride Festival on 6/28/2017.  The annual Pride Parade starts in Midtown Manhattan and proceeds downtown to Christopher Street in Greenwich Village to the historic Stonewall Inn, where the first protest for Gay equality took place.

Queens Museum Exhibits LGBT Culture

Queens, one of the five boroughs of New York City explored its role in LGBT History of the City with an amazing exhibit at the Queens Museum with a gala opening night reception on June 9, 2017 that I was honored to be a part of.  The exhibit is called The Lavender Line: Coming Out in Queens."  Many of the pieces on display came from the personal archives of City Council Member Danny Dromm, who founded the Queens Pride Parade 25 years ago.  I had a wonderful time with former Senator Tom Duane, Michael Mallon, dancers from SALGA (South Asian Lesbian/Gay Association) and Caribbean Pride and many others.

Queens LGBT Pride 25th Anniversary

I had the best time ever performing on the main-stage and marching in the 25th Annual Queens Pride Parade and Festival in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York on June 4,2017.  I was thrilled and honored to share the stage with the legendary Lisa Lisa of Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam whose original disco song "Can You Feel the Beat" and "I Wonder If I Take You Home" have become classics.  I marched in the parade with my dear friends from The Imperial Court of NY, City Council Members Danny Droum and Jimmy Van Bramer, and New York Comptroller and Grand Marshall Tom DiaNapoli.
