Hosting Original GLBT Expo

I’ve always been an exhibitionist of sorts, and I love to see and be seen. So it was perfection that on March 22nd, I was the official hostess of the 16th annual original GLBT Expo, held annually at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in New York City. Thousands of people from all over the North East USA and far beyond came to see the thousands of booths of Gay and Gay-friendly businesses and organizations. I loved seeing all my friends from the Community and making new acquaintances. I hosted part of the live stage show that headlined Zelma Davis the lead vocalist for C+C Music Factory whose voice was heard on every single from the mega-hit machine, including “Here We Go (Let’s Rock & Roll)” and “Do You Wanna Get Funky.” I loved co-hosting with MTV reality star Loco Ninja. I also performed with Billboard recording artist Lovari with his hit “Work It Out.” Other performers included Sean Seen, Appolonia Cruz, Tass, India M., Carmella Cann, Amber Rose Marie, dance tropes Project Valentine and Rhythm Locura. I also co-hosted the Video Lounge, by Logo, Under the Pink Carpet, and Long Island Film Festival where I presented music videos featuring Drag Queens. Lovari once again showed his video that features me, Take My Pain Away and Drag star Sherry Vine showed some of her hilarious parody videos. Ryan Wolowski and Samara Riviera were also present at the Video Lounge and conducted interviews for television.

SOAP Queen

Being a major Soap fan, I was absolutely thrilled to cover the 5th Annual ABC and SOAPnet Salute Broadway Cares. The event features stars from Daytime Television putting on a musical show to raise funds for BCEFA (Broadway Cares, Equity Fights AIDS.) This years sold-out event, held at New York's historic Town Hall Theater, generated a record $330,000. The event featured beloved stars from ABC Daytime's Emmy Award winning shows "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and "General Hospital," who delighted fans with musical numbers and skits.
Susan Lucci was a gem and a true beauty and gave my television program and e-zine (Under the Pink Carpet and Dishmiss.com) a fantastic interview featuring Diva Advice. The handsome Soap Hunks Aiden Turner, Cameron Mathison, Jacob Young, Walt Willey and others, also gave interviews about their male fans. And Eden Riegel and Tamara Braun talk about the historic Lesbian wedding that where they played adorable, beautiful Brides! A chance to work with actors from my favorite Soap, All My Children was a delight!

Center BINGO a la Telemundo

It was time again for my fabulous hostessing and number calling of Center BINGO. It's what Time Out New York magazine calls a "New York City Essential" and its not the same type of Bingo your grandmother played. It's BINGO with a glamorous twist with my style and this month's co-host Samara Riviera, the literary Diva from Telemundo television and Latin Boys magazine. I was glad to have another special correspondent co-host with me. Samara is a dear friend and we both looked so pretty and fierce in our new Springtime frocks. Besides us both being beautiful and television reporters, we are also also both editors of the hot e-zines. Samara with VivaLaRiviera.com and I edit for DishMiss.com. Samara was a big hit, being both beautiful, charming and witty, which the crowd adored.

Not only did we dance to the songs by our Divas, many came dressed as their favorate Diva. I of course dressed as on of the fierests Divas of NY, myself, Lady Clover Honey!!

Fresh Fruit PlayHouse

I love being the monthly hostess of the Fresh Fruit PlayHouse at the legendary NYC landmark, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, home of the Poetry Slams! On the third Wednesday of every month, Nuyorican hosts and evening dedicated to Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Transgender performers and the Straight (but not narrow) supporters. It's a place to try out new material, network and have a fun fruity time. On March 18th, I performed the Mascara Song form La Cage and other performers included Vera Wylde, India, Jasmine Maldonado of Animus, Sue Ellen Rubin and Carol Polcovar. Pedro Angle Serrano of Out FM radio made a fabulous flyer for the evening but he wasn't able to show up. But we had a fun "Girls Night Out" anyway! A large group of High School Students from Massachusetts showed up and I had fun ribbing them and giving the youngsters my sage life advice. I hope they know how to use it!!

New York Blade Mixer

I was thrilled to attend a special Mixer event presented by the renowned newspaper, New York Blade. The party was a chance to meet the brand new Editor in Chief, Kat Long and was hosted by famed Civil Rights Attorney Yetta Kurland, who is also a candidate for NY City Council. Blade associate publisher Cat Hecht, TV hostess Robin Byrd, recording artist Lovari, HX publisher Gary Lachinski, Winnie McCroy and many others had a blast at The Monster hotspot on March 16 to celebrate Kat in her new role as editor of the finest LGBT issue newspaper journal in New York City. I was happy to find the below picture of me and Kat in the March 20th issue of the NY Blade.
