Pill for Dowtown Fabulous Folk

The Pill Awards, the annual awards honoring the best in Queer, Drag, and Downtown Fabulous-ness in Video, Film Shorts, Music Video and Media seen on ADD-TV (Attention Deficit Disorder Television) happened at Arena nightclub in New York City on January 24th. Everyone in the queer nightlife and music video scene was on hand to celebrate. I was corresponding for a news segment for Under the Pink Carpet, the television series I work on now airing on NYC Life (WNYC Channel 25). I had a wonderful time interviewing Drag/Transgender personalities Sherry Vine, Brittney Houston, Amanda Lepore and the winner of the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race, Bebe Zahart Benet. I also loved seeing all my friends from the scene showing off our bodies and/or colorful ensembles.

Variety of Fresh Fruit

I was thrilled to be a performer at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe, home of the poetry slams, in New York City's East Village. I was part of a Variety Show Fundraiser for the annual Fresh Fruit Festival. The show was hosted by Frank Calo of Spotlight On theater and other performers included Sonic Uke, Hector Coris (MAC- Manhattan Association of Cabaret), Pistol Pete Struman, Barnacle Bill, Teresa Fischer, Rita Petie, James Martinelli and others. There was an auction and raffle prizes and everyone had a wonderful fruity time. The Fresh Fruit Fesitval is an inclusive, international, celebration of Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Transgender contributions to the arts held in Manhatten every July. Fresh Fruit's mission is to share the LGBT community's unique perspective, creativity and diversity and to build links between the LGBT, local, national and international artistic communities as well as to the general public.

New Year BINGO

I had a wonderful time Hosting Center BINGO on January 22nd. The crowd was wonderful, as always. Our sexy physique model, Tass, couldn't make it but, luckily, I persuaded another young man to take his shirt off so we could experience some bare-chested beauty. We were hoping for a $500 Jackpot money-wheel winner to start out the new year right! It Didn't happen this time, but there's always next month.
