I was so thrilled and honored to be "Empress of Ceremonies" at the 14th annual Jersey City LGBTQ Pride Festival. This year it was also a dance party inspired by the iconic Paradise Garage with local and legendary DJs Lola, George Soul and Danny Krivit. Thousands of fun-loving people came out to celebrate LGBT culture and citizens on the west side of the Hudson River on a beautiful unseasonably warm spring-like day. The festive event was held in the park outside Jersey City Hall. Hudson Pride Connections Center and Humanity Pride Productions co-hosted the event, and the official co-chairs were Elizabeth Schedl, Jonathan Lucas and Eddie Baez. Jersey City Council President Rolando Lavarro attended the Festival as well. There were more than 60 vendors and community organizations And the park and Jersey City Hall looked amazing all adorned with rainbow color fabrics and balloons everywhere. The Pride Festival ended a week-long celebration of Pride events including a Rainbow Flag raising at City Hall and the County Court House, a Comedy show, a brunch, a nightclub Drag show, a Women's performance and much more.
I had a blast with Matt Perasso, the Realtor from Real Housewives of New Jersey, photographer Rolanda Rose, recording artist Lovari, NJ Kick-Boxing Champion and Boot Camp Fitness Trainer Paul Anthony Chung, Crown Princess Madison Mansfield and Emperor X Gabriel Della Notte of the Imperial Court of NY, producer Michael Billy and Jarl Haugedal of Humanity Pride Productions, journalist Cathern Hecht of Jersey City Independent newspaper, Peter Frykie and the guys from Out in Jersey magazine, Jersey Shore Ghostbusters, the Jersey Zombie bartenders, Jeffrey Campbell of Hudson Pride Connections Center. And special thanks to dear friend and photographic journalist Richard McCormack who took a fantastic picture of me on stage that appeared online at The Jersey Journal, Hudson County NJ's daily newspaper since 1867.
