I had a great time celebrating St. Patrick's Day by marching in the 257th annual NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade on 5th Avenue in New York City. The march, which runs up 5th Avenue form 44th to 79th Streets in Midtown and Upper East Side Manhattan, is one of the oldest and longest parades in the world. I was joined by dear friend Ryan Wolowski, reporter/journalist from Manhattan Neighborhood Network and actor from the TV series Billions. I was honored to meet the Prime Minister of Ireland Leo Varadkar who was in town to partake in the parade. Varadkar is the first openly LGBT elected the Head of State of the Republic of Ireland. We marched with the Lavender and Green Alliance, an
organization of Irish LGBT people
with a mission to create an environment where our lives and histories
are shared and celebrated. They offer cultural and educational programs
that include researching and recording stories of LGBT persons within
the New York Irish community. After the parade we stopped by Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Times Square and NBC TV Studios to visit friends.
