St. Pat's for All Parade

I was so happy to be part of the 13th annual St. Pat's for All parade in Sunnyside and Woodside Queens on March 3rd. The St. Pat's for All Parade celebrates the diversity of the Celtic, Irish and Irish-American communities of New York City. The parade, first held in 2000, cherishes and celebrates an inclusive St. Patrick's season.  The St. Pat's for All parade was created in response to the shameful organizers of the NYC 5th Avenue St. Patrick's parade excluding Irish GLBT organizations. The St. Pat's for All parade embraces the theme of "cherishing ALL the children of the nation equally" taken from the Easter Proclamation of the Irish Republic.  I had a blast meeting the Irish residents and marching in the parade with NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn, NYC Comptroller John Liu, NYC Council Members Danny Dromm and Jimmy Van Bramer, GLBT Liaison to Governor Cuomo - Erik Bottcher, Gerard Mawn of Staten Island Pride, members of the NYC Police fraternity GOAL (Gay Officers Action League), Brendon Fay of the NYC Irish Arts Center, male supermodel Ronnie Kroell, Michael Mallon, Sebastian Maguire, Chap James Day and many others!  It was all green beer, corned beef, green bagels, bagpipes, leprechauns, puppets, dancing, laughing and loads of fun!
