On Thursday, November 15, I went to the premiere of the most fabulous and fun independent film, Farm Girl in New York. I had a small part in the film, playing a Drag Queen in a hilarious Gay Bar Scene. J. Robert Spencer — one fourth of Broadway's Jersey Boys — directed, created and has an acting role in the feature film he wrote with fellow Broadway star, A Chorus Line's Jeffrey Howard Schecter. Another actor named Josh Wade, also wrote and acted in the film. They spent many months producing, directing it and they're starring in Farm Girl during the day and then doing their Broadway shows at night. The film was a very enjoyable comedy that had the whole house laughing hysterically. The film had its World Premiere at the Tribeca Cinemas in NYC as part of the Big Apple Film Festival. They describe the film as Wedding Crashers meets Waiting for Guffman, but its also a touching love story. It's about two guys, (played by Jeffrey Schecter & Joshua Wade), who have no luck with women. So, they hold a fake audition in New York, based on a play that doesn't exist, just so they can meet hot chicks and get laid!
After the screeing there was a glamorous reception where I was reunited with several actors who were in the movie along with others in the Cinematic Arts. J. Bobby Spencer, Jeff "Scheky" Schector, Peter Kapetan, J. Elaine Marcos and others from Farm Girl where there along with Sandra Gayle Jordon of Cabaret Notero's, Cher Impersonator Howie V, Joey Reynolds of 719 WOR Radio NY, President and Founder of Big Apple Film Festival Jonathan Marc Lipp and others.
