Rosie O'Donnell at Lincoln Center

On Tuesday, November 6, my dear friend Rita treated me with a ticket to see the fabulous Rosie O'Donnell give a rare a special Comedy performance at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. The event was a benefit for Rosie's Broadway Kids, an education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts. Rosie hasn't done Stand-Up Comedy in a long time and this evening was the opening night of the NY Comedy Fest. Rosie was born and raised in Long Island and began her career doing Stand-Up in the NYC area. A special surprise guest performer was Roseanne Barr! Everyone enjoyed seeing the two plus-size funny girls. At the end, they sang "I Got You Babe/Bitch" with re-written lyrics that suited them perfectly. Rosie joked about how her daughter wanted to try walking in high-heeled shoes but even though there were two Mommies in the house, there were no high-heels. Rosie told her daughter that in a house with two Mommies, chances are there will be no high-heeled shoes. "However, in a house with two Daddies. . . ."
